The literature review provides an overview of relevant articles related to underage drinking.  This section is regularly updated as new literature becomes available to the public.

	Underage Drinking: Intervention Principles and Practice Guidelines for Community Corrections
	This document is a comprehensive practical tool written to aid the corrections practitioner and others within the justice community with a series of practice guidelines and guiding principles to help implement a more effective response to underage drinking youth who become involved in the justice system.

	OJJDP Bulletin, September 2012: Effects and Consequences of Underage Drinking
	This bulletin presents findings from a literature review that investigated the effects of underage drinking on youth’s physical, emotional, and neurological health. It also discusses the personal, legal, and economic consequences of underage drinking. The bulletin is part of OJJDP’s underage drinking bulletin series, which provides guidelines for communities developing treatment and prevention programs.

	OJJDP Bulletin, October 2012: Underage Drinking—Practice Guidelines for Community Corrections
	Guidelines based on evidence-based practices help direct the roles of community supervision professionals who work with underage drinkers. This bulletin offers 10 such guidelines to help professionals develop a plan for screening youth, determine appropriate responses, create a case plan, and provide treatment. The bulletin is part of OJJDP’s underage drinking bulletin series, which highlights the dangers of underage drinking and offers guidance to communities developing treatment and prevention programs.

	This bulletin provides a theoretical overview on which to base policies, procedures, and practices to help professionals effectively supervise underage drinkers in the community. The authors describe the goals and principles successful communities use to guide their approach to underage drinking, discuss laws related to alcohol use and the rights of underage drinkers, and highlight the legal issues that professionals who work with these youth may encounter.
