Law Enforcement and Higher Education:
Finding Common Ground Regarding College Drinking
Widely publicized tragedies as well as recent survey
results have brought increased public attention to the problem of underage
and binge drinking on and around college campuses. College administrators,
campus police, and local enforcement agencies are asked to deal
cooperatively with these problems, but often have difficulty overcoming
cultural and political barriers. This presentation will introduce a
document co-written by a campus administrator and a law enforcement
officer addressing these barriers and how to overcome them.
