The Judicial Division of the American Bar Association is the ABA’s home for judges and is the judicial voice of the American Bar Association. With more than 4,000 members, we work actively to support an open, fair and impartial judiciary through our programs, publications and initiatives. The Judicial Division is dedicated to fair and impartial courts, judicial education, public education about the rule of law and the judicial system, judicial ethics and professionalism, and access and innovation to and within our courts.
American Judges Association

The American Judges Association was originally founded as the National Association of Municipal Judges (NAMJ) in 1959 at Colorado Springs, Colorado, by 30 municipal court judges. As the association's membership grew to include judges from other types of courts and from a wider geographical area, its name was changed to the American Judges Association in 1973. Currently, AJA has a membership exceeding 3,000 members, which includes both present and former judges of courts of all jurisdictions in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa and The Virgin Islands. Its Board of Governors is composed of representatives from fourteen districts.

The National Judges Association (NJA) was founded in 1979 by judges dedicated to the promotion of the interests of all non-attorney judges. The mission of the organization is to preserve the existence of the non-attorney judge and to foster improved performance of traditional duties of the non-attorney judges. By becoming a member of this organization, one can contribute to the efforts to preserve and strengthen the tradition of the non-attorney judge in the United States.
National Tribal Justice Resource Center

The National Tribal Justice Resource Center is the largest and most comprehensive site dedicated to tribal justice systems, personnel and tribal law. The Resource Center is the central national clearinghouse of information for Native American and Alaska Native tribal courts, providing both technical assistance and resources for the development and enhancement of tribal justice system personnel. Programs and services developed by the Resource Center are offered to all tribal justice system personnel -- whether working with formalized tribal courts or with tradition-based tribal dispute resolution forums.
The Judicial Education Reference, Information and Technical Transfer Project

The Judicial Education Reference, Information and Technical Transfer (JERITT) Project is the national clearinghouse for information on continuing judicial branch education for judges and other judicial officers; administrators and managers; judicial branch educators; and other key court personnel employed in the local, state, and federal courts. JERITT is funded through a grant from the State Justice Institute (SJI). It is cosponsored by the National Association of State Judicial Educators (NASJE) and the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University.
